NIKITA BASSI
PROMOTIONAL CULTURE
Within my research investigation I explored the ways in which techniques such as engagement and persuasive imperatives have been used within The Children’s Society ‘Store of Modern Childhood’ campaign and how effective they are.
The charity launched the campaign in August 2019 to bring
attention to the harsh realities facing young children in the UK, by opening The Store of Modern Childhood, a pop-up store at 35 Baker Street, London as well as a video advertisement showcasing these social issues.

This topical campaign attracted me due to the shocking nature but persuasive image it portrays through
using emotive storytelling. A link to the advertisement can be seen to the right.
